Getting "Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Jul 7, 2012 at 9:12 PM

I LOVE this Outlook Add-in and am committed to continue using it, even with minor problems like this.  I'm using it in Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 64-bit PC.

I'm getting the error in the subject line above, but I can't reliably reproduce it.  Perhaps I can experiment to be able to tell you when it happens.  However, I looked in the OARDiag1000RC.log file and I hope it will tell you enough to know the problem and solution.  This is the entire OARDiag1000RC.log file:

I've investigated this further.  It only happens once an hour while Outlook is NOT running.  I have an Outlook Add-in called gSyncit that syncs the Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes with Google Gmail and Google Docs.  It's set up to sync once an hour, even when Outlook is not running (although it runs Outlook in the background each time it syncs while Outlook is not running).  Each time gSyncit runs while Outlook is not running, I get the "Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object." twice.  Then, I immediately get the message in the systray "Tip - You can create a rule of your own to save incoming attachments from the options window.".  It's my guess that if there were some way to turn off this "Tip" message, it would solve the problem.  Is there a way to turn the "Tip" message off?
